College Placement Assistance for Admission to Top Colleges & Universities
- College Placement Consulting is a systematic process that begins with an objective assessment of the student’s accomplishments and interests during the high school years.
- Over the years we have developed excellent relationships with admission directors at the top schools. We know the type of student that hundreds of American colleges and universities are looking for. This allows us to recommend those that are the best “fit” for each student.
- In addition to our evaluation process, we will help the student through the application process and answer such key questions as:
- What courses should I take in high school?
- How do I make my application appeal to the college of my choice?
- Can the coach really “get me in”?
- What if I am not a top athlete, how do I prepare an application that will make me stand out?
- When should I apply for early admission?

This July, we are excited to offer an essay intensive, during which we will assist students in completing their entry essay over 2 days .
There will be two sessions, both with the option of in-person attendance or virtual attendance via zoom.
Session 1: July 11-12 5:00 to 7:30 pm ET
Session 2: July 15-16 10.00 am to 2:30 pm ET

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS FOR THIS SPECIAL SESSION
Margaret G. Benedict, Ph.D College Preparation Services was founded by Margaret G. Benedict, Ph.D., a professional educator who has spent over twenty years working with students at the secondary school and university levels. Holding a Ph.D. in 16th century English literature from Lehigh University, Dr. Benedict has taught college level English at Villanova University and Fairfield University. Her work has been published in many professional journals and she has presented papers at numerous international symposiums.
Dr. Benedict is also the founder and Executive Director of the Matthew Gaffney Foundation (http://www.gaffneyfoundation.com/) which provides college preparation services to qualified economically disadvantaged students.
Patricia Dunn, MFA in Creative Writing, Sarah Lawrence College
Patricia has served as Senior Director of the Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College, and as Assistant Dean to Graduate Studies and Special Programs, and has over twenty years of experience teaching High School Students how to write their college essays.

1-on-1 SAT/ACT Prep-At our Location or Yours via Zoom
- We provide individualized counseling for SAT and ACT exams. With this approach our students have increased their SAT scores on average up to 600 points!
- The reason for this is that the individualized approach helps build a student’s confidence. We design our course around each student’s individual needs to help overcome the stress often associated with taking these exams.
ACT Preparation
College Preparation Services provides a one-on-one course that helps student prepare for ACT. The course helps students identify their strengths and skills. We use real exams and address the math, reading, writing and science sections separately to help students build strategies that will increase their overall score.
